Rehearsals

Initially at the Riverbank Centre, and then in Forum North from mid-May.

Usually on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, but with extra rehearsals if required as we near the opening night.

 Far beneath the majesty and splendour of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protégée Christine Daaé is so strong that even her heart cannot resist.

Corps de Ballet

For the auditions you should wear:

leotards and tights, ballet flats or jazz shoes (not boots) and please bring pointe shoes if you have them.  You should have your hair in a bun or tied up.


You will be asked to perform a variety of steps and leaps, in groups of four dancers.  The audition will take approximately 15 minutes.  Although you can look at versions of the ballet dances in other productions, you will not be expected to perform any of the routines for your audition.


To book your audition time please ring the Production Manager (Barbara Trimmer) on 021 393 322.  If you cannot attend on 4 November she will try to arrange an alternative date for you.


If possible, please complete the corps de ballet audition form and bring it with you to the audition.


The Corps de Ballet are not expected to sing.  However if you can sing, and wish to do so, that will be welcomed.


If you are successful you will be expected to attend all rehearsals and performances in Forum North, and the majority of the earlier rehearsals of the ballet scenes.  


IN ADDITION there are two male ballet dancers required, who could also take part in other areas of the show.

For the initial auditions you will have to sing a song from the list below.  The audition will take about 15 minutes.

To book your audition time please ring the Production Manager (Barbara Trimmer) on 021 393 322.  If you are unable to attend the dates given she may be able to organise an alternative date for you.

If possible, please complete the cast audition form and bring it with you to the audition.

2nd, 3rd & 4th November. Please prepare your audition performance from the following list for your first audition. Call backs will be held the following week on November 10 & 11 when you will be required to sing a further piece or pieces depending on the role you are auditioning for, read from the script and demonstrate your movement capabilities.

Call Back Weekend – Please come prepared to sing the following depending on the part for which you are auditioning. We will be looking for voice quality, empathy for the music and a good understanding of what you are singing. We will also be looking for your ability to move on stage and project your voice for speech.  You will be contacted by the Production Manager with a time for this audition.
