The Riverbank Centre is the home of the Whangarei Theatre Company, and was built by company members in the mid-1980s.  We currently produce three shows each year, two always being musicals with the third either a musical or a play.  In addition the Junior Theatre also stage productions.  If you would like to join us please complete the membership application form and return it to us.  Current members may renew their application using the linked form.  You can view the Constitution here.

Whangarei Theatre Company is run by its Executive Committee, who are elected annually.

The centre contains a main auditorium,  the smaller Hatea room, dressing rooms, a workshop and catering facilities.

The main auditorium features a large stage, tiered seating for 170, an orchestra pit, and a control room.  

The smaller Hatea Room features a stage and seating for 100.  It is used for dining before performances, and is ideal for private functions such as meetings and parties.

The facilities of the Riverbank Centre are available for hire, and packages can be developed to include the use of the company's technical equipment, subject to availability.  For more information on hiring and rates please email or contact us through the theatre in Reyburn House Lane.
